I can use any color or color combinations in fashions, gowns or high heels to describe Marilyn Monroe, and you just can't help but envision her wearing that color like no one else ever could!

Marilyn Monroe was such a talented, beautiful actor and icon, it behooves me to even try to come up with someone else who is in her league. There is just no comparison!

We all know and love Marillyn Monroe in her forever famous flowing white dress with the sexy halter top and matching white slingback high heels. But when you are as beautiful as the vision that was Marilyn Monroe, it would really be a disservice to her legend and memory as well as to all of us not to admire her beauty and sexiness in other colors as well.

What better way to describe a color when referring to Marilyn Monroe's fashions than siren red! Not ruby red (think Dorothy's shoes in the Wizard of Oz). No.... ruby red will not do. What about "hot red"? A nice reference but "hot red" does not convey the image I would like to bring to you of Marilyn Monroe.

They say that the third time is a charm -- so what about Siren Red! That's it! That word leaped to my brain as I was trying to come up with a color befitting the fashions of such a beautiful icon as Marilyn Monroe. And I think the color, siren red fits some of her fashions perfectly.

I recently re-watched Marilyn Monroe's movie Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, mostly for her dancing and singing talent, since after many, many viewings, I prettty much knew the story line. But then I started to pay more attention to the fashionable gowns and clothing she was wearing, which, by the way, can be worn and be fashionable today -- some 5 decades and more later!

The next time you watch Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, take a look at Marilyn Monroe's amazingly beautiful siren red gown she wore during the movie. I was almost fixated at the sheer beauty of the red sequined gown she wore when singing in a duet with Jane Russell.

Marilyn Monroe: Who wears it best or is this question an oxymoron?

Enough advertising you say? Ok, let's return to Marilyn Monroe in her sexy, siren red dress.

Some magazines, and websites as well, sometimes show two different celebrities wearing the same or similar dress and ask that you make a determination as to who wore the dress best.

In my opinion, sometimes choosiing who wears a dress or gown best is too close to call. I would ponder and study the pictures of the beautiful celebrities, and as hard as I try sometimes, I would come to the conclusion that each celebrity wore the dress or gown well in their own way!

I cannot use this excuse if Marilyn Monroe was the other half of the picture puzzle. For an example, let's take a look at both movie stars -- Jane Russell and Marilyn Monroe in the picture to the right. They are both wearing the same gown, but if I was asked who wore the gown well, even though my hat is off to Jane Russell -- I think she is a beautiful actor -- but again, in my honest opinion, Marilyn Monroe makes the dress! No question! With her beautiful face, glowing smile, full red lips, and shapely figure, you may not even notice the red gown she is wearing -- much less be able to let me know if she wore the gown best!
