In this article, I will be talking to you about how to choose the "right" pair of red high heels to wear for the right occasion. It will answer the question regarding the buzz over wearing red high heels and tell you how to wear women's red high heels.

Red High Heels - Infatuation with the color red

Let's start off by talking about our infatuation with the color red itself, followed by our discussion on red high heels. Why is it that when, let's say your girlfriend or BFF is angry or upset, she may say something like, "Boy.... I got red hot when I saw him with that other girl!" She could not just say she felt "hot" -- No -- She had to preface "hot", with the color red to let you know how "hot, "upset and angry she really was.

Or sometimes just using the word "red" alone is enough to prove a point. For example, have you ever said or heard, "I saw red when she said that to me!" Right away your listener knows that you were highly upset and teed off with whatever she said to you.

Try replacing "red" in the sentence above and tell me if there would be much of an impact if the word "red" had not been used. Let's give it a try. "I saw purple when she said that to me!" -- Not as revealing as the color red, huh? Using the color " purple" (no pun intended) just doesn't seem to get the point across.

On the other side of the coin, red also signifies beauty and passion. Have you ever seen anything as beautiful as a red rose in full bloom?

And this is for the ladies -- Red has been shown to be the color that perks up a guy's interest, sexually speaking!

So you can see why if there is such passion and deep meaning in the word "red" by us just saying it, just imagine the impressions or thoughts that people may have when we are wearing the color on our person -- as in red high heels.

Red high heels - Why you should wear Red high Heels

Red high heels connote different visions and impressions to different people. For example the celebrities pictured at the upper right, may be just making a fashion statement. They may simply like the style, fit, design, etc. of the outfit they are wearing and decided to wear matching (or contrasting) red shoes with no further thought processes behind their choice to wear red high heels.

Another reason is you may have had a "blah, blah" day at work one day, and the next day you want to do something different -- to make up for the "blah blah" day you had. I did this on several occasions. Pictured above (anklets with foot bared) are red high heels similar to the pair I wore to make sure I did not have a repeat "blah blah" day at work. Like them? I got several compliments from my co-workers as well as, dare I say, my boss. Now, now.... The compliment was in good taste!

Of course I have several pairs of red high heels. The pair of platform red high heel pumps pictured at the upper right is a pair that I usually wear sometimes to work, or maybe when I'm going out. That 's the attraction of red high heels -- they are so versatile, you can make them fit any occasion you want, by accessorizing to "upsize", them, or simply wearing a pair of jeans to "downsize" them!

Red High Heels - What is the right occasion to wear Red High Heels
I think you already know the answer to this question. The right occasion is anytime you decide that you want to wear them. Whether it be to work, a night out on the town with the girls, a date, a movie, dinner, whatever. You decide!

Always wear red high heels with a red dress -- True or False?

Remember when you were taking a test during class and came across a true or false question that you had no idea what the answer was. Some exam questions are so skillfully crafted that by the authoritative way the statement is written, it could very well be true. On the other hand, there could be a trick to make you perceive that the statement is true, when it is in fact false.

If you were like me, and did not want to feel like all your time studying was wasted because now you have this benign question to answer which could potentially keep you from getting that coveted "A", you would keep reading it over and over again until you were satisifed that you would be able to "guess" the right answer.

Here's what I would do. After rereading the statement, I would study the question (sentence- wise -- word by word) itself to see if there were any clues in it for the correct answer. And guess what, many times there were. Similar to this situation, there is in fact a clue in the question above. Do you know what it is?

I'll take you out of your suspense, and tell you. I used the word "always", and it is very unlikely that something is "always" done -- there is usually an exception. That being said, the answer to this question is unequivocally False.

Just take a look at the first picture in this article. Red high heels are being worn with a black dress, and look perfectly ok. In fact, the red high heels complement the dress.

But if you are one who likes to see a matching red color to go with your red high heels, you can easily wear matching red accessories. Maybe a red bracelet, or even, a ring with a large red jewel is an option.

Solid colors with red high heels? Right?
My personal preference is to wear solid colors with red high heels, but if you prefer, floral outfits that have red mixed in the design is fine to wear with red high heels. Here is a picture that shows red high heels being worn and goes well with a floral dress. Yes that is her -- The very famous Kim Kadashian rocking her red high heels. I hear that she is getting married soon -- but that is another topic for another day.

Just how high should red high heels be?
I mentioned before that there is beauty in the versatility of red high heels relative to fitting them to specific occasions. There is also beauty in the wide range of heel heights you can choose from for your red high heels.

If you prefer heels in the 2" to 4" range, there are lots of 2011 high heel styles available for you including women's shoes online. Here are some red high heels for you to take a look at.

If it is warm or even hot outside, you may opt for a pair of red slingback high heels. I have a pair like the pair below, and once again, I received compliments on this pair as well.

They are suprisingly comfortable to wear. The sales person at the store where I bought these red heels explained to me that they were comforable because, really the platform is sort of an "equalizer" between the height from the tip of the toe to the adjacent heel length. In other words, a 6" tall high heel is really 4", if you factor in the 2" tall platform. By the way, I also have another exact same pair of red high heels in my closet that I got a few months later when this pair went on sale! I'm not one to miss out on a sale, especially on a beautiful pair of red high heels.

Additionally, I have a pair of red high heels with the wood designed platform and matching high heel, made out of shiny red patent leather. The color scheme is similar to the red high heel below with the cork platform and heel. If you asked me which is my favorite of the two styles, I would have to say the pair pictured. For some reason, the wooden heel to me takes away from the red high heel shoe color, so it's like I'm wearing red and brown (color of the wood design) high heels instead of simply beautiful all red high heels.

I do have a pair of high heels with the weave-like woven top as the red high heel shoe above, but unfortunately they are not red. Instead they are made of elegant-looking bronze-tan satin material with faux diamond/rhinestone buckles, so I can't show them to you here. Maybe some other time?

To continue -- If I was going to a really high media type event, let's say a Hollywood movie premeiere, and had the privilege of walking the red carpet (I can dream), I would not hesitate to wear a pair of high heels similar to the pairs shown here. I can imagine how I would have to shield my eyes from the lights flashing from the paparazzis' cameras!

Which brings me to this, "What If" type question for you. Have you noticed how Harry Potter in the Harry Potter movies has grown older, and is continuing to play Harry Potter, but as an older Harry Potter. As an update, he has now transitioned to other movie roles.

What if there was a sequel to the Wizard of Oz, and they showed the scene with an older Dorothy clicking her ruby sequined red shoes. (They would have to find some way to get that part of the movie back in the sequel). Would she be wearing red high heels similar to the pair shown here?

But I digress. I read somewhere that it is a show of confidence to wear red high heels. Not sure if this is true, because I believe that confidence comes from within. But it's nice to know that a stunning pair of red high heel shoes may just do the trick.

You may already know whether or not you enjoy wearing red high heels, or you may be on the fence. Or you may know if you plan to try wearing them to see if you do like them.

Just remember and consider that at the end of the day, red high heels are a pair of shoes, the same as the black, purple or other shoes you wear. You can't read other peoples minds and tell what they are thinking. And really.... does that matter any way? But if it does, I can attest to the fact that I have received nothing but compliments from wearing my beautiful red high heels.

Just as the choices you make when you decide on what you plan to wear each day, the fashion statement you make regarding the choice of shoes you wear is of your own choosing. No big deal.
